Bobby earned his second major, going Best of Breed over Specials, at the Travis County KC and finished his Championship going Best of Winners at Fort Bend KC. |
Thank you, Diane and Bill Klumb, for this wonderful Havana Silk Dog. We picked Bobby up in December of 2003, during the Great Virginia Blizzard of 03. (Well, ok, it was 5" of snow. But when you're from Houston, a 5 hour drive across the mountains in snow qualifies as a blizzard!) Flying home, he cuddled in the arms of a young woman who was going to her grandmother's funeral. It was the first time we had seen him be still, as if he knew she needed comfort. Bobby continued to display this sense every time we visited Steve's 87 year old mother, laying in her lap quietly. The last time we saw mom smile was as she held Bobby.
Combined with this incredible ability to know when someone just needs him to be quiet, Bobby is "all boy". He is 10.5" at the shoulder,and 11" at the rump, and 11" from shoulder to tail set. Bobby is all muscle, from his daily runs of 1-2 miles on the golf course. He loves to play runlikehell or fetch a ball, but his favorite is going after the ducks around the lakes. So far, he hasn't caught one *grin*, but no duck on land is safe once we tell him to "get the ducks."
We decided to cord Bobby, and from August 2004 to August 2005, he wasn't shown. Returning to the show circuit in October, Bobby picked up the points to complete his Championship, owner-handled for all his points.
